Late Night Poetry #13: Tethered

Free your stretching arms to meet the sky,
embrace clear azure air, solid in the winter winds,
the gravity of the earth will hold you tight.

Tall like a centenary tree, and just as substantial:
our bodies are our souls – tethered to the earth.

Walk back into the woods, under the canopied sky,
let the fractured sunlight warm your brittle bones,
the rotation of the planet will lead you home.

This made me want to stretch and I felt its warm embrace. I feel tethered to it now, it feels just like home 🙂
