Reading in the Woods.

In July, my sister took Dan and I to some local woods for a engagement photoshoot, before our engagement shoot with our wedding photographer in October. We’ve never had a photoshoot before so it helped to create our own feel for the day and to be a bit more comfortable in front of a camera. My sister is a fantastic photographer – she has ‘the eye’, basically, and her photos always have this quality to them that feel like a celebration of life. She’s available for commissions, events and personal photoshoots – you can find her at Stars and Rainbows, her blog. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves – enjoy! There are more to come at some point.

‘There’s something about these obscure vignettes of former lives that’s very powerful. Our woods are full of old cellar holes, tumbled-down chimneys, ancient scraggly lilacs absurdly tall still stretching toward the light.’ ~ Leslie Land.
