It’s really late into the night, but I’m just going to keep it short and sweet this evening! Lots of images and not so much text – I’m so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. This evening I had to help my Mum bake some cupcakes for a work fundraiser tomorrow, so we’ve made Rhubarb and Ginger cupcakes and Banana cupcakes. The Rhubarb and Ginger ones are interesting, I like them but they might be a bit of an acquired taste, eek. I’m sure some people will like them, if not there’s more for Mum to bring home!
I’ve had a good day, and I had a good weekend – I watched Inception with Dan for the second time and we just took it easy really. Last week was a bit up and down, with deadlines for articles and feeling a bit under the weather. I also had my annual audiology and doctor appointment – the good news is that I’m getting new hearing aids and earmoulds, the bad news is that the hearing in my left ear has dropped a little. I have noticed that it’s slightly quieter than my right ear, but I kind of thought it was my hearing aid not working very well! I’m okay with it, but that was a bad day, so my Mum took me and Dan out to eat that evening because I needed cheering up. I think I drowned my sorrows in Pizza and Nutella…
Just imagine living in a world without mirrors. You’d dream about your face and imagine it as an outer reflection of what is inside you. And then, when you reached forty, someone put a mirror before you for the first time in your life. Imagine your fright! You’d see the face of a stranger. And you’d know quite clearly what you are unable to grasp: your face is not you. ~ Milan Kundera, Immortality.
