Following The Weekly Writing Challenge: A Pinch of You prompt –
How does the old saying go — girls are “sugar and spice and everything nice,” and boys are “snips and snails and puppy dog tails”?
Aside from not knowing what a “snip” is, I don’t buy it; we’re much more complex than lollipops and unicorns and toy trucks and frogs. This week, we want a window into the complexity that is you. We want your best recipes.
We don’t mean we want your best recipe for fried chicken (although we’ll take that, too — a good fried chicken recipe is always handy). We want the recipe for all the bits and pieces and quirks and foibles and loves that make you you.
For the cupcakes:
168g introversion
140g geekiness
112g bookworminess
224g creativity
125ml supernatural TV shows
2 large cups of love
1/2 teaspoon movie trivia
For the buttercream:
60g cardigans
50g dresses
2 tsp dark eyeliner
115g brogues or boots (note: interchangeable)
2 tbsp femme attitude
Combine ingredients with a Lush bathbomb and Twilight shower-gel, preferably in the shower. Add a dash of kindness and a streak of zany humour. Don’t forget to omit misogyny, homophobia, racism and body-hating, not to mention disablism – they will cause the mixture to foam and explode. Serve with plenty of chocolate and cups of tea, if desired. Don’t forget to chill out.
