Self Portrait As Rain

I mist the sentinel trees, landing softly,
adorning branches and leaves with jewels.

I slide in waterfall rivulets down windows,
a musical accompaniment to quiet afternoons.

I hang smoke thick in the frozen winter air,
obscuring the harsh edges of this chaotic world.
