It’s that time of the year again when Halloween creeps closer and writers the world over don their fingerless gloves and start alluding to NaNos and Poblanos and NaBlos, whilst everyone around them thinks they’re losing the plot (plot twist!).
With that out of the way, I’ve decided that because of my absence in the blogosphere this month (unforeseen reasons, as usual, and a lot of soul searching), I’m going to take part in National Blog Posting Month (shortened to NaBloPoMo), with Ra Avis’s Cheer Peppers Team. She’s set up a website where you can join the team and join a community that will spur each other on and support each other during what can be a fun, exciting month, but also a difficult, painful one (involving posts that skid down the slope into the abyss, never to be spoken of again..). Rather than calling it NaBloPoMo which is quite the mouthful, Ra’s NanoPoblano is much easier to say and has a little extra spiciness to it.
I’ve taken part in NaBloPoMo before, and did two years in succession of National Novel Writing Month, but this year I feel it would be good to have a whole big team of Cheer Peppers to keep me going when I hit that inevitable slump. Anything goes – long blog posts, short blog posts, photos, videos, a wall of Instagram pictures, artwork, works in progress – the only rule is to have fun and explore new possibilities with your blog. I hope you’ll be patient with me – I’m sure I’ll write a couple of duds or just leave you with a couple of lines of words and a photo on some days, but I hope it’ll be a breath of fresh air for this blog.
