Still Life

Sometimes the words won’t come: but there is always photography. I’m enjoying documenting my life in this way, sometimes it’s the small things that you look back on and realise how multi-textured and colourful life actually is. I’m still finding my feet with getting back into writing; in the meantime, enjoy:

Sirop

‘Adventure in life is good; consistency in coffee even better.’ – Justina Chen.

Carnations

‘With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?’ – Oscar Wilde.

True Peace

‘We don’t realize that, somewhere within us all, there does exist a supreme self who is eternally at peace.’ – Elizabeth Gilbert.

Nectarines

‘I have people in my life, of course. Some write; some don’t. Some read; some don’t. Some stare vacantly into space when I talk the geeky talk and walk the geeky walk, but they make killer chocolate chip pancakes and so all is forgiven.’ – Rob Thurman.

Gingerbread

‘In Britain, a cup of tea is the answer to every problem.
Fallen off your bicycle? Nice cup of tea.
Your house has been destroyed by a meteorite? Nice cup of tea and a biscuit.
Your entire family has been eaten by a Tyrannosaurus Rex that has travelled through a space/time portal? Nice cup of tea and a piece of cake.’ ― David Walliams.

Sunshine

‘As the hours crept by, the afternoon sunlight bleached all the books on the shelves to pale, gilded versions of themselves and warmed the paper and ink inside the covers so that the smell of unread words hung in the air.’ – Maggie Stiefvater, Shiver.

Marmalade

‘A few moments later the bus pulled up. It was an old-fashioned red double-decker bus that you could jump on at the back. I went to sit on the bench at the back of the bus and was placing my guitar case in the storage space near where the conductor was standing when, behind me, I saw a sudden flash of ginger fur. Before I knew it, Bob had jumped up and plonked himself on the seat next to where I was sitting.’ – James Bowen, A Street Cat Named Bob.

Happy Monday, hope you are feeling inspired to get your cameras out!
