What is joy?
A hot drink after being outside in the cold.
Reading a good book with a cat curled up with me.
Writing or creating something and finishing it.
Watching one of my favourite films and eating toffee popcorn.
Coming across a new writer or a new favourite novel.
Discovering a blog that I love reading.
The smell of bookshops and new books.
Dancing to my favourite music.
Singing to myself (badly) in an empty house.
An unexpected gift of chocolate.
Nutella on crumpets and Teapigs tea.
Hugs from my favourite people.
Laughing at Internet Memes like Doge.
Watching StarWars for the millionth time just because.
Coming out with random geeky trivia such as the fact that Dennis Nedry ruined it all for everyone in Jurassic Park.
When plans come together without too much effort.
Tumblr-ing forever, late at night.
Sitting in Costa with my sister for hours just talking about life.
Re-watching TV box-sets and rediscovering the joys of Buffy, Smallville and Charmed.
Looking through old photos on the computer.
The first snow of the year.
“Laughter is wine for the soul – laughter soft, or loud and deep, tinged through with seriousness – the hilarious declaration made by man that life is worth living.” ― Seán O’Casey
and also…smiling over our own silly mistakes……..
