Monday Night Inspiration: The Link Edition

There are many wonderful blogs and writers out here in the blogosphere, and I follow as many as I can, though I don’t always make the time to read them. I used to have an extensive blogroll with categories, but now prefer to Tweet or share on Facebook. At the same time, this doesn’t mean that I’m not lurking around blogs reading as many wonderful things as possible. I’m making more of an effort this month in particular. I also use Pocket to save things to read for later. I’ve discovered many powerful and creative blogs this month, and I’m reading more of the ones I’ve been following for a while. So I’d like to use Monday Night Inspiration this evening to share some of the blogs I read (and love). Some of them are doing NaNoPoblano (NaBloPoMo), this month!

1. Card Castles in the Sky: a fusion of daydreams, nightmares, art, and writing. It has a life of its own! In her own words:  ‘Introductions aside, writing is not my sole passion. (Just my first & most intense.) Joy is also brought to me through art, creating music, film-editing, film-making, voice acting, cooking, and photography; gaming…the list goes on.’

2. Mr Tookles: It’s only here that you can find Mr Tookles, Madhawi’s alter-ego, a gorgeous and rather mischievous robot. Beautiful illustrations, words, and thoughts about life and universe.

3. Combat Babe: a recent find, through NaNoPoblano, but I love Sarah Nicole’s take on things, and her attitude, and pop-culture references! ‘I want this to be as open and real as can be. That’s my goal for this blog. I want it to be a collection of my thoughts, opinions, stories, ideas, and maybe some creations of I don’t know what yet.’

4. Josephine Corcoran: Josephine is the Poet in Residence at Trowbridge Town Hall in Wiltshire, and she is blogging for NaNoPoblano this month. I enjoy reading her thoughts, and her poetry is gorgeous. She is also the creator and editor of ‘And Other Poems‘, a website sharing a variety of poems that might not otherwise be available elsewhere for whatever reason.

5. My Writing Journey: Tina writes in the fiction genres that I write in (fantasy, paranormal, horror), and her non-fiction writing is evocative and thoughtful. I look forward to reading her blog (and short stories) when she posts, and I know she will always have something interesting and thoughtful to say.

6. Scribblings of a Storyteller: Ratika is a beautiful writer, with a lyrical and dreamy style of writing. She’s recently rediscovered her love for writing, and I discovered her when she started leaving comments on my blog. I always look forward to her comments and her blog posts! ‘I want to share my words, in the hope that it would make someone happy, because it’s always overwhelming to know that I’m the reason behind someone else’s smile. I want to be better than I was yesterday. I want to keep writing and never stop. It’s my bliss.’

7. Sarah Emma Photography: Sarah’s words and photography fuse together beautifully. She may be my younger sister (and I love her) but she’s an inspiration to me. Her take on the world is similar to my own, though she has travelled her own journeys and has her own dreams. She’s just starting out with her creative endeavours, and I’m looking forward to seeing what she does next. She’s also doing NaNoPoblano this month!

8. Delicate Things: Ali’s writing is a beautiful meditation on love and life. She’s recently started blogging again after a break, and I’m glad she has! Also a recent find with NaNoPoblano.

9. Sidereal Catalyst: Abbie writes raw and honest poetry and words, often about mental health, but also about life and love. It helps to read the words of people who have been (and are) going through mental health struggles. She’s doing NaNoPoblano this month too. ‘Writing is the only time I get to be completely naked, figuratively speaking (and sometimes literally). So my promise to you is this:
I will always be honest, and raw, and true to myself and to you.’

10. Charlotte Steggz: Charlotte has recently moved to Cambridge (one of my favourite places!) and writes about food, travel, gratitude, and life in general. She’s a comedian and writer, and I like her style very much. Another NaNoPoblano writer!

11. Consolation’s Many Forms: Sibelius Russell writes profound, thoughtful poetry and essays about life, love, and his experiences. He’s been experimenting with essay-writing this month for NaNoPoblano: I’ve found his writing encouraging and inspiring.

These are just a handful of the people whose writing I read and appreciate, so I hope that you’ll also enjoy their writing.
